We discovered that we had another issue with our septic system with the pipe getting clogged. We dug up the septic pipe right where it went into the septic tank and discovered that there was a 90 degree elbow and it also had to travel uphill into the septic tank. Not exactly what you want for flowing of sewage into a septic tank. We dug up the old 90 degree elbow and replaced it with a 45 degree angle section of pipe which made the flow much more direct.
