The living room was one of the things that really sold us on buying this house. We loved the fireplace with the big stone wall. We have made a lot of changes since moving in. The biggest change was tearing out the carpet and putting in our own hardwood floor cut from a tree in our front yard. We also added crown molding around the ceiling, added a surround sound audio system, added the oak fireplace, and also added the ceiling fan. We also replaced the windows in this room and most of the rest of the house and put in a new sliding glass door. New furniture and the seashell coffee table also finished the room nicely. It was a major transformation, but we could see the potential when we first saw the house. I had a dream of putting in a cathedral ceiling, but after consulting an architect, decided that was not very doable without spending a huge amount of money.
