So one day, Jaye was looking on Facebook Marketplace and found a person who was selling a baptismal font that was 4 foot deep, 4 foot wide and 10 foot long. That bought a church and were converting the old church into their new home. We called them and left immediately as soon as we could get the racks taken off of our kayak trailer as we figured that the kayak trailer was just big enough to fit the galvanized metal baptismal onto the trailer.
The pool stayed on the trailer for a good while, while we made plans for where we would put the plunge pool and to figure out the logistics.
The photos pretty well tell the story. We removed the old cold tub and installed the new plunge pool in the same basic spot. It was quite challenging to move and install the pool with just Jaye and I. This project ranks up there with cutting down the red oak tree in the front yard and then having it milled and then installing it as the new living room floor and paneling for the music room in the downstairs.
In the fall of 2023 we rebuilt the frame around the plunge pool using 4x4's instead of 2x4's. We then had to redo the T-111 paneling as the outside of the poll was slightly large. I also then used white corner molding to finish the job. I bought a new sign in the summer of 2024. I also had to redo my fish sign as it was getting worn from the outside weather. I also replaced the old larger ladder with a much smaller ladder that colapses ans takes up less space in the pool.
In the fall of 2024 I started to work on a frame for the top to help keep the rain and snow out after it gets drained for the season.
