Facebook Marketplace strikes again. I saw that someone was selling some stone veneer and one of the projects that we wanted to do in the spring of 2022 was to put stone veneer on the chimney on the carport side of the house and the chimney that is connected to the wood stove in our downstairs family room. When we bought the house that chimney was not in great shape and we bought some fiberglass material that we used to patch the original brick chimney and just covered the entire chimney to give it the proper support. It was functional but not much to look at. I also bought a used commercial grade stone saw (again on Facebook marketplace) so that I could properly cut through the stone. That was a significant help. The project took several weeks to complete as there was a lot of cutting of the stone and we had to deal with the angle of the slope of the roof. We were very pleased with the end result. Jaye did the majority of the work on the roof while I did the cutting and hauling and mixing the mortar. Again, I was harassed on Facebook as most all of the photos showed Jaye working and not me, so obviously Jaye did all the work, while I just took photos of her working. We make a great team!
